The Give Story
Give Industries was founded in 2018 by three close friends (and former housemates) with a shared vision. We envisioned transforming an existing sole-trader electrical contracting business into a social enterprise that not only upheld strong, fair salaries and environmental sustainability but also dedicated every spare dollar to effective charities.
Five years later, we still feel like we’re trying something a bit new, and a bit different. Toolbox talks often revolve around the impactful destinations of our donations, and our staff are staunch advocates for our cause.
And at the heart of Give Industries is our driving goal: to give every single spare dollar away to some of the most highly effective charities in the world, working towards the future we all want to see for the world.

Management Team
Calvin Baker
Founder & Director
Calvin has spent 15+ years in the electrical industry, with extensive experience managing commercial and residential fit-outs and maintenance. As a passionate supporter of the effective giving movement, he is dedicated to social change on a global scale. Give Industries is the natural result of combining his ethos and experience.
Kat Dekker
Founder & Director
Kat has a background in theatre, and has worked in community engagement, in prisons, and with marginalised and socially isolated communities. She never dreamed she’d be working in any capacity for a trades company, but then she never dreamed that a trades company like Give was possible. Kat brings her experience in creative thinking, community, and parterships to the day-to-day operations of Give Industries.
Our Board
Jeremy Chirpaz
Founder & Chair
Jeremy is a sustainability advisor with expertise in energy efficiency, green building and climate change.
Jeremy founded Give Industries alongside friends Calvin & Kat, and originally developed the sustainability strategy of the organisation before driving the triple ISO certification achieved in 2023.
Jeremy is proud to be the Chair of Give Industries Board and an advisory board member of the Queensland Social Enterprise Council.
Derek Lark
Non-Executive Director
Derek was the Executive Director at the Industry Capability Network Ltd (ICNL) for 16 years. He has recently retired and is now the Chair of the ICNL’s Board of Directors. He is a very experienced director with past and current positions on both for purpose and commercial organisations.
Derek is also a master facilitator specialising in strategic plan execution and has been an associate of Waterfield Consulting for over 10 years. He is passionate about the success of Australian small businesses.
Residing in Canberra, Derek is married with three children and three grandchildren.
Shane Stankowski
Non-Executive Director
Shane has extensive experience in supporting operational organisations to reach their goals through the development of strategy and the application of considered risk, assurance and governance frameworks.
Shane is passionate about enabling high performance in organisations with an emphasis on creating safe and efficient workplaces where people are empowered to make great decisions every day.
Shane is excited to support Give Industries in creating a world empowered by effective giving.
Corinne Wallis
Non-Executive Director
Corinne is passionate about using business to change the world for the better. She has created two start-ups, led several companies (including a large not-for-profit; a technology-focused social enterprise; and a Federal Government focused Indigenous company), and currently advises Federal Government on operations management and digital transformation.
Corinne has a technical engineering background which she uses to champion for diversity within the electrical and engineering sectors, and remains a licenced electrician.
